1. Brenna Johns- Last Day in the Office!

Hello Everyone!

Although I announced it at the last council meeting I thought I would also share with the rest of our membership that my last day in the office will be next Friday February 13th. I have accepted a position to teach english to elementary school youth in South Korea for a year!

I cannot express how much I have enjoyed working with everyone here in San Benito county. I have made so many friends here and learned so much! Please know that I have appreciated my time in our program and that your help, knowledge, and at times patience have helped make this chapter of my life very rewarding.

I wish you all the best!
Sincerely,
Brenna Johns

**Message from Lynn Regarding Open 4-H Rep Position

San Benito County 4-H Program Representative Position

As you may have heard, February 13 will be Brenna's last day as the San Benito County 4-H Program Representative. As such, I am working on preparing all of the necessary materials to recruit and re-hire for her position, which may take up to six months.

During the interim, UC has given me permission to hire a temporary replacement at 50% time (20 hours) per week at $17.76 per hour until a permanent replacement can be identified. If you or someone you know is looking for temporary (up to six months), part time work, please have them contact me at 831-637-5346 x 12 or at lschmittmcquitty@ucanr.edu

Lastly, I would like to publicly thank Brenna for her leadership and dedication to the program. It has been a pleasure having her as part of the 4-H family here in San Benito County. We wish her luck in her new adventure.

**Also check out the Tech Wizards open position description below!

2. County Presentation Day- Sign Up Forms Attached!
Are you nervous and shy when you speak in front of people? Do you need more star rankings for your hat? Then what you need is to present at County Presentation Day!  No other 4-H event allows you to earn credit for your PDR in so many ways: Event Attended (#3), Leadership (if a room monitor/judge--#4), Communications (#6) and Awards (if gold seal--#7). Check your Record Books and see which of your PDR categories need the most credit. Presentation Day is not limited to demonstrations and speeches on 4-H Project topics--be creative: interpret a poem, act out a skit, enlighten your audience as to the origin of Jello--the sky's the limit*. This event is fast approaching--only a month away. Get your entry form into the 4-H office today!
If you are an old pro at Presentation Day and would like a change of pace we need room monitors and senior member (high school) judges. If you are interested please contact Emily Whiteley at weslynn@razzolink.com
    ~The Presentation Day Committee
*Please note, that while you can do a presentation on the sky, political and religious subject matter in presentations is prohibited.

Dont forget to check out the presentation manual on the California 4-H state website!
