What is a 4-H Presentation
A presentation is a method used to communicate an idea or topic by showing, telling, or expressing your opinion. A presentation may be a demonstration, a talk, a speech, a reading,or a skit. By presenting at this event you will receive a Record Book credit for a formal presentation (Box 6 on your PDR), as well as for an event attended (Box 3 on your PDR).A 4-H Presentation helps you learn to:
- Research a subject
- Organize ideas in a logical order
- Share your spark or your passion
- Practice public speaking skills
Want to practice your presentation before the event? The Public Speaking Project will be hosting a mock Presentation Day, where members can come to present in front of three evaluators and receive feedback about their presentation. This is a great way to find out which areas of your presentation need to be worked on before the event and also gives you a formal presentation credit for your Record Book!
4-H Presentation Manual: This manual gives all the necessary information to present effectively and within the 4-H guidelines. Be sure to read it as some categories and the rubrics have changed.
