SBC 4-H Scholarships
Three 4-H Scholarship opportunities are available to San Benito County 4-H Youth Development Program members who:
- Are currently enrolled and active in San Benito County 4-H.
- Are graduating from high school.
- Completed 4 consecutive years in the San Benito County 4-H program, including the year they’re applying.
****All scholarship information is due to the 4-H Office by 5:00pm, 2nd Thursday of April. Due Thursday, April 13, 2023. No Exceptions!****

1. GEORGIA WAPPLE FRAZER
- One 4-year scholarship ($1000/year – $4000 total)
- Recipient of four-year scholarship will have four years to access funds.
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- A scholastic record of 3.0 or higher for the last three years of high school.
- The rank of Gold Star or higher in the 4-H Incentives and Awards Program.
2. JOHN W. & CAROLINA RICOTTI 4-H MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
- Up to 2 scholarships at the Incentive & Recognition Committee and judges’ discretion - $500 - $1,000 maximum.
- Recipient has one year to access funds.
- No additional eligibility requirements.
3. 4-H MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
- Up to 2 scholarships at the Incentive & Recognition Committee and judges’ discretion - $500 - $1,000 maximum.
- Recipient has one year to access funds.
- No additional eligibility requirements.
Applicant must:
- Submit a completed Application (Form A), two recommendations (Forms B & C), 4-H Record Book (with only the PDR and at least a one page story and all mandatory signatures updated through March 1), and an official sealed high school transcript.
- Be interviewed by a panel of community members. You will be contacted for an interview no later than the second week in May.
Selection Criteria: Awards can be withheld if applicants do not meet criteria.

Scholarships may be used at any school of continuing education above high school.
After being awarded a scholarship, the recipient must submit to the San Benito 4-H Office a transcript from a post secondary institution that shows completion of at least 12 semester/quarter units and proof of re-enrollment as a full-time student. (Recipients of John W. & Carolina Ricotti and 4-H Memorial Scholarships need only do this once, but the GWF recipient must provide this documentation throughout the 4 years.) If student ends up deferring schooling for a year, she/he must come to Council to ask for payment to be deferred for up to a year.
